Power and precision on an XXL scale
The Airbus A400M Atlas, Europe’s flagship military transport, impresses with its size and agility in flight. Designed to meet the modern needs of armed forces, it combines strategic and tactical capabilities in a single aircraft. During aerial demonstrations, its Tactical Display version showcases its impressive manoeuvrability, despite weighing 76 tonnes unladen.
A giant in military logistics
Commissioned by the French Air Force in 2013, the A400M is capable of transporting heavy equipment, helicopters, armoured vehicles and up to 116 fully-equipped soldiers. It can land on short or summarily prepared runways, and refuel other aircraft or helicopters in flight thanks to its modular equipment.
A show of force
Despite its impressive wingspan and size, the A400M surprises with its ability to perform spectacular manoeuvres in flight: tight turns, steep climbs, controlled stalls and short approaches. The Tactical Display illustrates the aircraft’s level of sophistication and the expertise of French crews, capable of getting the best out of this modern platform in the most demanding situations.
